Oh Pitiful Me

It's no secret, since moving in 2019 and retiring in 2021 I have been very lax as far as updating this site. I've even neglected my photography to a certain degree. Lots of trips with a fully loaded camera bag have resulted in lots of phone pics while leaving the cameras in the bag. This has to stop. I have a surgical procedure coming up tomorrow but upon recovery from that there will be some photo road trips in my future.
Photo road trips are different from family road trips. The objectives are different. I have, in the past, mentioned that I'm pretty single minded when on a photo trip. Most of the time my family doesn't like being with me on these trips. If I see something I want to photograph but the light isn't right, I have two options: Travel on and return when I think the light is right or sit and wait for the good light which may sometimes be hours. The family road trips are more along the lines of "drive fast to get where we are going with only bathroom stops" so there isn't much opportunity for serious photography.
Anyway, I'll be taking some road trips to include:
Wildflowers and wild horses in southwest Colorado
Sunrise and sunset in the Badlands in South Dakota
Driving and photographing Route 66 from Gallup, NM west to the AZ/California line.
Another trip or two to Yellowstone and Grand Teton (Heather will be with me)
Spring in East Texas for the Bluebonnets
There are others too numerous to mention. Pretty ambitious but over the next few years they will happen. Wish me luck.
